Our DT Aero 45 disc wheelset is precisely that. A DT Swiss hubbed aerodynamic 45mm deep wheelset for bikes with disc brakes. The only thing we haven’t told you yet is that you get your choice of DT Swiss hubs and that the rim is made from carbon fiber.

What type of carbon fiber did we hear you ask? Well we based our Aero range off our Fast and Light range, they were fast and light in case you can’t tell how we name products, which was constructed using Toray T700 carbon fiber. We wanted our Aero wheels to be lighter, so we needed to change the carbon fiber layup.

For the Aero range, we use a mix of Toray T700 and T800 carbon fiber cloth. By using the mix, we were able to keep the Aero range being stiff, strong, and tubeless ready but we were also able to shave off around 100g per wheelset.

We felt as our rim was of such high quality that it was only fair to offer it with high-quality hubs. We think you’ll find it hard to find better hubs than DT Swiss hubs, so that is what we decided to use. Even better we give you a choice of DT Swiss hubs.

You can pick from either their 240EXP or their 350SL disc brake hubs. Both hubs are available in either 100 x 12mm and 142 x 12mm thru axle or 100 x15mm and 142 x 12mm thru axle options. So you can even pop these on your 29er mountain bike if you want a little aero advantage for it.

We finish the package off with the highly renown Sapim CX-Ray spokes. The aero CX-Ray spokes lead the market for lightweight and strong spokes.

Features

Wide Rim Tech

25mm rim wide creates a better, more stable support, while the shape of the tire and rim together creates regular, stable air flow, in short, more aerodynamics, less attrition. provides an ideal basis for 25/28mm tires, the sizes currently popular.

2-Way Clincher Tubeless. Tubes or No-Tubes

Use either traditional tires with tubes, or tubeless tires without tubes. Tubeless tires can provide lower rolling resistance and better protection from punctures.

Sapim CX-RAY As light as a titanium spoke

The CX-Ray still receives the best results in fatigue testing of any spoke. The CX-Ray aero spoke combines excellent aerodynamics with low weight and great strength. Not only are they more aerodynamic, they also make wheels lighter and stronger. Its unique strength and flexibility make the CX-Ray suitable for most bicycle disciplines. CX-Ray spokes are used by top bike racers and triathletes around the world.
