We are bringing you our new Aero range of wheels. As you might have been able to work out these wheels are all pretty aero. Our DT Aero 40 disc carbon fiber wheelset is a great aero wheel for those who also like to venture up the side of mountains.

The Aero wheelset is based on our popular Fast and Light series. We have taken the Fast and Light series and made it lighter. We did this by changing the carbon fiber layup. Instead of only using Toray T700, as we did in the FL series, we have now mixed the T700 with T800. The new mix has allowed us to save around 100g per wheelset.

Do not worry though as we have still kept the same wide and tubeless ready profile of our FL series. The wide shape allows your tire to fit in nicely with our rim, guiding the air past and stopping it from breaking up and causing drag. We have also tested these wheels to make sure they are just as strong and stiff as the FL series.

You can then choose your choice of DT Swiss hubs to fit our Aero 40mm carbon rim. We have available the 240EXP and 350SL disc brake hubs. The 350SL is the more affordable option, and the 240EXP is the lighter option. They both feature DT Swiss' toolless design for when you need to service then and their Star Ratchet system for an almost instant drive connection. Both styles of the hub are available in Centerlock.

Once you have picked your hubset, we will lace your choice to our Aero 40 rim using Sapim CX-Ray spokes. CX-Ray spokes are industry leading in their low weight and strong build qualities, the perfect mix for our wheelsets.

Features

Wide Rim Tech

25mm rim wide creates a better, more stable support, while the shape of the tire and rim together creates regular, stable air flow, in short, more aerodynamics, less attrition. provides an ideal basis for 25/28mm tires, the sizes currently popular.

2-Way Clincher Tubeless. Tubes or No-Tubes

Use either traditional tires with tubes, or tubeless tires without tubes. Tubeless tires can provide lower rolling resistance and better protection from punctures.

Sapim CX-RAY As light as a titanium spoke

The CX-Ray still receives the best results in fatigue testing of any spoke. The CX-Ray aero spoke combines excellent aerodynamics with low weight and great strength. Not only are they more aerodynamic, they also make wheels lighter and stronger. Its unique strength and flexibility make the CX-Ray suitable for most bicycle disciplines. CX-Ray spokes are used by top bike racers and triathletes around the world.
